Yes, though most channels on these providers are encrypted and require a paid subscription and authorized receiver. They do offer various FTA programming on there satellites such as Dish Network Carries Various Music Channels, NASA Channel, And Angle Channel.

Can a FTA receiver be used for Dish Network, Bell Express Vu ?

Yes, for FTA only!! You can receive all preview channels and any channels that are not encrypted. Any tampering with your FTA receiver in US and Canada (whether by hardware or software modification) to try to receive the premium (encrypted) channels without paying is not only a violation of the law and unethical, but will also void the warrantee on your receiver and may hinder it unusable. Can a FTA Receiver be used for Direct Tv (DTV) ?

No.FTA receivers work on a DVB system which is incompatible with Direct TV.

What size dish is required for FTA ?

C-Band signals usually require a 6-10ft dish. While KU-Band signals only require a 30 inch dish and above.

What is a DISEqC Switch ?

A DISEqC switch is used to allow multiple satellite signals to one FTA receiver. It looks like a cable splitter with usually 4 inputs and one output hence the name 4X1. You usually setup the port settings in your FTA receiver to match your DISEqC switch.
